Dr. Sangeeta Shah, a native of India, migrated with her husband to the United States in 1971. As a trained pathologist, she served in the U.S. Army as a Major in the Medical Corps at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Her military service was her gateway into Cajun country. She served as a director of the pathology department at the University Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana for ten years. During her pathology career, she took further training in hematopathology, helped establish a breast clinic at UMC, and served on various committees. Her passion for patient contacts and seeing all the ill effects of environmental toxicity, drug induced illness, extensive cardiovascular diseases, and death from cancer inspired her. She changed her career path and started helping patients in preventive diseases by healthy nutrition.

Dr Shah's Indian cultural background and vegetarian lifestyle gave her a solid foundation in whole food nutrition. She has helped thousands of men, women, and young children lose weight, gain control of their lives, and develop healthy eating habits without harmful medicine.

She is board certified not only in pathology and hematopathology, but also in Bariatric Medicine and has taken many nutritional courses to help her patients achieve optimal health and longevity of life.
